Jacob’s career path began after getting a Flip camera for his 11th birthday and immediately starting to record everything around him. Working on a cooking series with his little sister, he taught himself iMovie, then Final Cut Pro, then Premiere Pro over the next few years. In middle and high school, he founded and led his school’s A/V Tech Club before teaching a full-semester video production course in 2016. In 2020, he graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor’s of Science in Electronic Arts (emphasis in Computer Animation) and a minor in film studies from Missouri State University.

Professionally, Jacob served as Head of Video for Greater Goods, a kitchen and medical appliance company in St. Louis, MO, where he oversaw and spearheaded all aspects of video production across Amazon, YouTube, and social media platforms. He was previously on retainer at Better Noise Music, creating music videos and other content for world-famous musicians.

Jacob currently lives in St. Louis with his wife Michaela and their cat Biscuit. Outside of work, he loves playing the drums, listening to Rush (often while playing the drums!), watching The Simpsons, or bugging people to read his favorite book, House of Leaves.

Jacob Katz is an award-winning digital artist specializing in video production. He’s worked in the field for over 16 years, 9 of those professionally. The projects he has worked on have garnered tens of millions of views across multiple different platforms.
