After I finished my senior thesis, I had a very long creative slump that was only made worse by the pandemic. I saved up money for a camera, knowing that having the equipment would force me to make something, and my sister's 18th birthday was a perfect candidate. The opposite of the her first birthday video, I spent months plotting out every detail in here, writing the script, storyboarding the entire thing, even doing budget spreadsheets and scene stripboards. Then, when it came time to film, I cordoned off my parents' garage and made it a studio for a few days. My sister loves to unwrap gifts, even if she knows what they are, so when this video was done, her physical gift was a gigantic binder with all the production documents inside.
