I think of all the cooking videos I made with my sister, this one is my favorite. Yeah, I got to "borrow" the fancy new camera I had convinced my school to buy for our Tech Club, so everything felt more professional already, and it was the first video I edited in Final Cut Pro, but more than both those things, this was capturing and preserving a tradition with a recipe handed down for three generations. On top of that, it was one of the few times we were able to get my grandmother on camera before she passed away. Baking latkes was one of her favorite things to do each year, and I'm so happy we have this memory of her.
